The Tree From U2's 'Joshua Tree' Album Artwork Has Been Vandalised

It seems that U2 fans will go to any length to a memory; the tree that appears in the work Inlay iconic 1987 album 'The Joshua Tree' has been vandalized.

A tree limb has been hacked off, as the website Consequence of Sound reports after seeing an ad in a U2 fan forum.


"Last Sunday, I made my annual trek to the proverbial tree with my dog to remember the past only to find that some contrivance and I do mean trick, decided it was a brilliant idea to have a saw for a tree limb - obviously to remove an inch thick cross section as a souvenir. You’re kidding? "
